ABOUT
Growing up in California in the 60’s and 70’s, I found no end to visual delight, imagination, and inspiration.I have always enjoyed pop culture,TV, movies, advertising, classic children’s books and toys. I am still inspired by these as subject matter.
I live in Portland Oregon with my wife, oldest son, and three cats. I work from my home studio surrounded by my childhood toy collection.
I prefer water based mediums and works primarily with gouache and acrylic paint, often employing a technique I call gouache and ink resist, which I’ve been exploring and pushing the boundaries of since 1990.
I have been showing my art at Brassworks Gallery since 2015 and have been a part of several group shows, as well as three solo shows. The “Puppet Show”, featuring famous puppets throughout history, “My World and Welcome to It”, a show of toy portraits, and “1960 Great and 70 too.” all very proud moments. Recently I was part of a three man show titled “Lost Hours” at Brassworks Gallery along with Greg Hergert and Glenn Barr.
